Introduction:

The Pune District Education Association 's Law College was established under the aegis of the Pune District Education Association Trust in July 2002. The college is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University and approved by the Bar Council of India. The college conducts BALLB (5-year programme) and LLB (3-year programme) together with 3 diploma courses, namely, Labour Law & Labour Welfare, Taxation Laws, and Cyber Laws. The college was first located in Kharadi and then shifted to the Hadapsar campus to impart quality legal education to the students residing in semi-urban and rural areas. The purpose of this institution is to impart justice education along with human values. The Institute's primary goal is the holistic development of its students through the teaching of university curricula, moral principles, and a sense of social responsibility. The Institute has started the Students' Welfare Cell, the Legal Aid Centre, the National Service Scheme (NSS) section, etc. in order to address these concerns. Since a multidisciplinary approach is necessary for the law to be fully understood and applied effectively, the Institute encourages students to organise, carry out, and participate in programmes that promote legal literacy and awareness. Students are most likely to be interested in the nuances of legal processes; thus, the Institute arranges field trips to places of legal importance such as the District Court, High Court, Supreme Court, Yerwada Jail, and Lok Adalats. In a brief time since its founding, the Institute has left a mark in the legal field. The Institute has been dedicated to maintaining the great tradition of excellence with fire, zest, and vigour since its inception.

Vision:

A generation of students with the intellectual prowess, moral awareness, and social duty to uphold the Rule of Law not only locally but also globally is what Pune District Education Association Law College strives to cultivate, develop, and build. It is our responsibility to provide an example for integrating the rule of law into the society and to eradicate any prejudice based on a person's identity, property, or community, as we strive to be the leaders in legal professional education. The College endeavours to serve as a training ground for future judges, legislators, and public servants who will be a part of the governing class who will play a major role in making and imparting decisions. We work diligently to help our students become the best at everything they do constructively and to develop into experts who will leave their mark in the legal field.

Mission:

To promote the Rule of Law and the objectives outlined in the Indian Constitution by instilling moral, legal, and cultural principles. To increase community awareness of the law in order to achieve greater social and economic justice. To incorporate essential elements of practical training with high-quality theoretical education. To inculcate a strong sense of moral and ethical principles in order to help students become decent people and responsible citizens. To be an academic institution providing an impetus to socially underprivileged students for perseverance in the competitive world. To transform individuals into enthusiastic legal professionals To educate and enlighten the masses by spreading the light of education in semi-urban and rural areas. To enable students to develop professional skills and ethical grounding to transform into excellent lawyers, judges, and academicians. To promote knowledge and understanding of the law and related fields.

Future Plans:

Presently most of our plans have come to pass. However, we also acknowledge that education, and legal education in specific, must be dynamic. It must adapt to the quick changes that are occurring in society. In our pursuit of excellence, we set the following objectives for the upcoming years: Globally Competent Legal Education: The context of legal education has evolved due to shifting economic policies brought about by globalization and liberalization, advances in science and technology, and governance difficulties. Therefore, we must use a number of strategies to train students to deal with issues on a global level. The objective cannot be accomplished through implementation of the regular curriculum alone. We must add more appropriate exercises to this program, such as the ones mentioned below: Giving instructors and students access to cutting-edge ICT resources, including as digital libraries, legal research software, smart classrooms, and free Wi-Fi Facilities.

LLM Department & Research hub by A.Y. 2024-25. B.B.A.L.LB by the A.Y. 2025-26 Expanding the number of autonomous diploma programs like Diploma in Intellectual Property Laws Conducting seminars, conferences, workshops, and debates on significant legal issues. Inviting in experts as guest lecturers, such as judges, advocates, scholars, public servants, etc. Collaborating with various agencies on research-focused projects. Encouraging students to participate in internships Providing career counselling to student's Conducting exchange programs for students and teachers by collaborating with other domestic or foreign organizations Multidisciplinary study and the development of strategies

Value-Oriented Education: Merely receiving an education that does not culminate in the assimilation of moral principles within the legal field is worthless. Legal professionals must never lose sight of their duty to maintain the rule of law in society. In order to do this, we must pay attention to the following: Students engaged in legal aid centers. Expanding the number of legal aid camps and supporting those in remote areas. Promoting an interest in and awareness about environmental conservation. Observing special days such as International Women's Day and Constitutional Day to promote respect for the rule of law and gender equality. Increased Technology Use: In today's digital environment, it is essential to expand the use of ICT in areas such as administration, accounts, evaluation, and education. Our website has been updated. all classrooms have been made Wi-Fi and ICT enabled. teachers and staff are encouraged to use ICT methods. Wi-Fi connectivity has been accelerated. More e-learning resources have been subscribed. The most recent version of accounting software has been acquired. Admissions are processed online. Examinations are conducted online

Bridging the gap between classroom and courtroom: Student graduating should be well equipped to practice ably in the courtroom. The gaps in law in books and in action should be removed through measures like: Arranging more moot court & Mock Parliament competitions. Conducting certificate courses like Law & Economics, Initiation into Civil & Criminal Practice, Spoken English, Gender & Culture etc. Encouraging legal development: The administration believes the college want to be active in forming the nation's constitutional framework. Students and faculty should be more involved in drafting new laws, improving current regulations, or filling in any gaps. The following actions can be made to deal with this: A greater number of academic and student research projects. Pointing up legal gaps to different organizations so they can take appropriate action
